The blind spot

Your website knows every click. Your store only knows the receipt.

Most shopping decisions are made in the aisle, and until now they left no trace. Shoppermotion measures every step between walking in and paying, so the physical store stops being a black box.

How it works

From a trip to a decision, in three steps.

  1. 01

    Capture every path

Discreet Bluetooth tags on trolleys and baskets are located by ceiling antennas with sub-metre precision. Every trip is recorded from the entrance to the till: passively, anonymously, with no app and no cameras.

    • Full-path coverage, not door counts
    • Deployed in hours, no works in store
    • GDPR compliant by design

  2. 02

    Match it with the receipt

At the checkout, each path is paired with its ticket. Now every stop on the shelf has an outcome: engaged and bought, engaged and walked away, or passed by without a look.

    • Conversion per aisle, bay and SKU

Category intelligence

Conversion happens at the shelf.

Store-level conversion hides where sales are won and lost. We measure it bay by bay: who passed, who slowed down to look, who stopped to engage and who put the product in the basket.

  • Physical funnel for every category, bay and SKU
  • Spot shelves that attract but don't convert
  • Benchmark planograms and layouts across stores

Retail media

Sell in-store media like digital. Prove it like digital.

Screens, end caps, pallets and flyers finally get the metrics advertisers expect online (verified impressions, views and clicks) plus closed-loop attribution to what ended up on the ticket.

✦ AI weekly brief

Traffic grew for the third week in a row, driven by weekday evenings. The gain is not reaching the till in the centre aisles: coffee and snacks convert below the store median while dwell rises: a sign of choice overload rather than low interest. Promo inventory near the entrance outperforms, and remains priced like the rest of the store.

What does Shoppermotion do?

Shoppermotion is an in-store analytics platform. It records the full path of every shopper through a physical store, from the entrance to the till, and matches each path with its receipt. Retailers, brands and Retail Media Networks use it to measure conversion at the shelf, verify in-store media exposure and attribute sales to offline campaigns.

How are shopper paths captured?

Small Bluetooth tags on trolleys and baskets are located by antennas on the ceiling using Angle of Arrival (AoA) positioning, with sub-metre precision. There are no cameras, no apps to install and no personal data involved.

Is it privacy-friendly and GDPR compliant?

Yes. Shoppermotion tracks shopping tools, not people, so every trip is anonymous by design. Data is encrypted and processed in line with GDPR.

What is offline attribution for Retail Media?

Offline attribution connects exposure to in-store media (screens, end caps, flyers, pallets) with what shoppers actually buy. Because every path is matched with its ticket, Shoppermotion reports verified impressions, views and visits to the promoted category, and the sales lift they generate.

How long does deployment take?

A store is usually live within hours, with only minor works. The hardware does not interfere with existing electrical or network installations.

How do teams access the data?

In three ways. Shoppermotion AI is our analytics platform for category, media and operations teams, with an AI assistant that answers questions in plain language. Periodic reports reach each stakeholder. And a REST API connects out of the box with BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI and Tableau.

Can the positioning technology be used outside retail?

Yes. The same Angle of Arrival RTLS locates any asset or wearable in real time for manufacturing, logistics, warehouses and events, with data available via REST API or MQTT.
